End of classes

Finally! Vacations!. After suffering with works and all those things that are made in the school, is time to rest. It was a heavy semester. It is my first semester in BI for which I had to get used to everything again.

I liked English class because the coexistence in the classroom was very good and shared knowledge with colleagues. I think missing me lot to learn English, I hardly work talk about it and I have to improve that.

In general, everything was OK :)

Week of presentations.

In this week, three girls came to the school, to show us a presentations about their countries.

First it was Rosie. She came to England and showed us what is most popular in her country. I like the streets of England and above all Pubs :)

Actually, I want to try the Fish & Chips.

Rosie accent was a little hard for me, but she spoke slowly and therefore was more understandable.

Then it was Audrey. I liked what she said about Canada, but I found it a bit difficult to understand how their country is separated. D:

I fell in love with the maple candy that she gave us.

Her accent was easy and very understandable.

Wendy's presentation was that I liked more, was understandable an fun. Her accent was easy to understand although she spoke a little fast.

I love her University and the way of thinking that she has.

Twas the Night Before Christmas.

A visit from St. Nicholas.
By Clement C. Moore.

Twas the night before Christmas, then all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
I hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our heads for a long winter's nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from
the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew
like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet!, on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around.
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, form his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon have me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night.''

Guy Fawkes.

Life and poem.

Guy Fawkes was an English catholic conspirator. He wanted to blow up the Parliament with explosives, when he was in its cells.

While he was downstairs he was found, arrested and tortured until the end of his life.

The 5th of november, the Bonfire Night is celebrate in England, simulating the day he was burn in the bonfire.

Poem:

Remember, remember the 5th of november.
The gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason why gunpowder
treason
should ever be forgot.

Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes,
'twas his intent.
To blow up the King and Parliament.
Three score barrels of powder below.
Poor old England to overthrow.
By god's providence he was catch'd,
With a dark lantern and burning match

Holloa boys, Holloa boys, let the bells ring
Holloa boys, Holloa boys, god save the King!

Hip hip hoorah!
Hip hip hoorah!

A penny loaf to feed ol'Pope,
A farthing cheese to choke him.
A pint of beer to rinse it down,
A faggot of sticks to burn him.
Burn him in a tub of tar',
Burn him like a blazing star.
Burn his body from his head,
Then we'll say: ol'Pope is dead.

My strengths.

I am very optimistic.

I consider myself an optimistic person because my family has taught me that If I am positive I will be happy. I have been surrounded by loving friends, that always support me. I am conscious that this will help me through out my whole life.

When I am positive, I do my stuff the best way I can. I am satisfied with everything I do, nevertheless, I know that there will always be obstacles that I have to overcome.

One of the things that I appreciate is helping others making them feel less pushed.

Finally, being positive makes life easier.

My weakness.

I leave everything to the end.

My main weakness, that I would like to improve is that I leave everything to the last minute. This is because sometimes I do other things first, that may not be as important. In addition, I consider myself a responsible person, but sometimes I can't control every single detail. Therefore, this leads me to sleep very late and to make me feel tired emotionally and physically. In occasions, I get stressed out and consequently I don't do my homework the right way.

I would like to finish quickly but I take too long because I like to do it consciously. Although I start late, I always finish on time.

Finally, I know there are some things I can improve to be more organized. Fist of all, aster doing my homework the first day it's assigned. Make a list with my priorities. It my friends ask me out I could only go out with them unless I have already started my assignments.

In conclusion, organizing the time is one of the most important thing that we should do. This way, we would be more efficient and as much time as possible.

The hunger games.

Movie review.

The hunger games is the film that has made more than one person to think.

In September 2008, Suzanne Collins published one book of the most famous trilogy nowadays.
The cast is great, first, Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, and Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket. The movie director is Gary Ross and Lionsgate Enterteinment acquired the film rights. The film is a combination of drama and comedy.

The Hunger Games follow a simple plot, but full of details.

Every year in the ruins of what it was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and a teenage girl to compete in this games. The hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which ‘’Tributes’’ must fight against one another until one survivor remains. In the arena, Katniss and Peeta have to fight, hide, kill, etc.. to survive.

Special effects play an important role in this movie. They are the ones that give a special touch to the film and make some scenes be very fun and interesting. For example, the explosions, when Katniss is stung by bees, and when Katniss is wearing a dress on fire.

It is very interesting how the people dress in the Capitol. They are very extravagant. Her eyelashes, their mouths painted, their hair, their clothes. On one hand we can realize the luxuries that they have and enjoy while in some cases, other districts live in poverty.

Finally, the Hunger Games is a futuristic film with exciting themes, with an excellent cast. It's a film that grabs you with every detail and that makes you look different perspectives during the frame. Although the film has some things not quite certain, it maintains the values that build up humanity.
